i put on another fancy dress fighting game tournament last weekend, called it Guilty Gala. here's my ramlethal-inspired fit with my doubles partner (we got third!)

70 people for this event, a new personal record. when I did this format in the spring for tekken we had a similar if slightly smaller turnout and just under half of attendees dressed up according to the theme. for the strive players it was 95%. i knew I could count on the game who's playerbase is all gay kids and grunglers

this is an event that's late by two days but i've been kind of busy! ♡ i've done valentine's day events previous years on my anime fanfiction tumblr and i had to do another one for this year too.

i started this same event yesterday on my other tumblr but now this version is harry potter and marauders based♡

I finally got to take aba into tower and did better than expected. I went about even with a slayer in 10F, got demoted by an asuka, and then in 9f I went slightly better than even with a faust, anji and a chipp and got promoted again. most of these guys were temporarily embarrassed celestials, so I'm pretty happy with that performance. I was honestly expecting to immediately get spiked down to like, 8F for a week or two like I did when I picked up gio or elphelt

I really gotta figure out what I'm supposed to be doing against zoners, it feels like there's certain ranges where I'm not sure what normal mode aba can do to contest just yet, and against characters like asuka who can hit full screen there's not really a lot of room to transform and get things started that way. I think there's gotta be buttons I'm not using or math I'm not understanding, but it's also possible that she just dies. a lot of players seem to think she's really good as a counterpick and really bad as a main for these kinds of reasons, but those opinions also come from like, month 1 of her release, so I tend to think that kind of thing is hyperbolic. there's definitely stuff I'm not fully understanding or utilizing

the other thing is that I haven't really built up a sense for how to adapt with her in general. with gio I had like 600 hours of familiarity to fall back on when constructing counterplay mid match, but as aba it still feels like once I stop being able to knowledge check over her stupid normal mode frame data, I start to struggle. I suppose when I have multiple hundreds of hours with her and fully understand her kit I'll be able to catch up. normal stuff.

I'm also getting held back a bit in jealousy mode by my gio habits. dog can't jump but aba's air buttons are dumb as shit so I can contest a lot of jumpy characters directly instead of trying to anti-air or punish landing lag. I gotta remember her 2s buttons also. those things are absurd.

and of course there's a lot of stuff I'm still trying to work into the kit. the f.shiki, normal mode safejumps, better tension and jealously management. refreshing jealousy on the wall feels really good when it works, but I still need to get a sense for how her moves interact with wall health

Honestly, you didn't really think that you could even spend this day with him since he's been so busy lately. But here he is, standing in front of you and asking you to spend the day with him

You were quite surprised when he took the day off just to spend it with you, not that you're complaining.

I am generally a very passive and quiet person because of my depression and anxiety. I always feel like I am obligated to help people even if I have to push myself by exceeding my limits and when I am unable to do so I just feel very guilty. I don't really have friend because internally, I guess I just cant accept the fact that people make friends because of the ulterior motives they have and it just becomes a very fake and transactional relationship. I think in a relationship, some things I would want the other party to have are... being able to have a genuine connection and also being very mature, understanding and supportive since I have a very big fear of coming off as too affectionate or clingy because I get comfort from physical affection. I also like to give and take care pf other people compared to them taking care of me because I feel like I'm being an additional burden to them when I'm on the receiving end of things.

As someone who really struggles with the social aspect of life even if I like doing sports, I don't really like to hang out with loud people and most of the time if I end up having a conversation with someone, it's always on a very deep and emotional level and I find conversations like this very interesting because it really allows me to think about the many possibilities as well as being able to understand and empathise with other people alot easier just because I am very emotionally sensitive. I also tend to overthink alot because of how I was brought up and all the trauma that is just laid on me just kind of takes a toll mentally. All in all, I end up being a very quiet person because I am afraid to be vulnerable and would rather help others out in any way instead of letting people do the same for me.

I was thinking of one match but when I read to one point I sort of changed my mind and it sort of gave me a much better match in mind instead lol

Just like you she's very helpful, but unlike you she knows when to accept help. So she tries to help you be more comfortable with the idea of others just wanting to support you for the sake of it.

It takes time to recognize that it's normal to ask for help, and you're everything but a burden. Especially to her.

She considered introducing you to the gang so you could see for yourself that people don't always befriend each other to get something out of it... But with how the boys act she doesn't think you'd be comfortable meeting them yet. Especially with how loud their leader is.

Should you show your interest though, she wouldn't be against it. She'd only make sure to have a talk with everyone so they wouldn't act in a way that'd make you uncomfortable.

She's extremely mature and understanding, although she tends to be tough on the outside, she's actually very sweet and affectionate on the inside.

So, knowing you tend to get self conscious when you initiate affection while also craving it, she usually makes sure to start it herself. Both because she wants it, and because she wants you to feel loved.

She always listens to you, and when your conversations get deep she helps you think through your struggles. It's not one sided of course, she doesn't try to hide her burdens from you. Since talking to you about them does make her feel more at peace.
